Washington D.C.
On a Christian Discoveries program to Washington, D.C., students learn
about the significance of Christian influences on the birth and growth
of our nation. At the Capitol building, certified Course Leaders set
aside time to pray for our nation's government, discuss a Christian's
responsibility in government, and talk about Christian influences
found in the paintings located in the Capitol's Rotunda. At Arlington
National Cemetery, students honor those who lost their lives serving
our country and discuss the issues of sacrifice, commitment, and freedom.
At the White House, students pause to pray for our nation's chief
executive. As students explore the presidential monuments and war
memorials, they begin to understand the profound faith of our founding
fathers and the ideals upon which our country was founded. Throughout the
program, students gain a greater appreciation of the world at-large
and learn about how Biblical principals shaped our young nation.
