Our Mission
At Christian Discoveries, our mission
and highest goal is that we would truly honor God
as individuals and that we would seek His aid and
guidance in the way each program is carried out. A
Christian Discoveries program is much more than just
sightseeing – it is applying spiritual truths
to the sights students see. Each program is designed
to impart a vision, challenge students to recognize
their role in God’s plan for His people, and
to identify and use the tools He’s given them.
Educational Value
WorldStrides, and as a result Christian Discoveries,
is the only accredited
student travel company in the nation. What does this
mean? It means that WorldStrides has been recognized
for its educational merits using the same high standards
used to accredit your child’s school before
it opened. Our programs are based on national curriculum
standards and promote higher order thinking. Our integrated
approach to learning is unique. Each of the elements
of learning – from our certified Course Leaders,
to the on-site discoveries that occur while on tour,
to the Discovery Journals each student receives –
are integrated to ensure a consistent learning process.
The integrated approach includes two features on our
website. Our Online
Learning Center provides students with hundreds
of web links, tests to gauge their knowledge, and
site information to prepare them for their program.
In addition, Discovery
for Credit is a web-based program that enables
students to earn one semester elective high school
credit. Discovery for Credit is available to all our
programs that go to Washington, D.C. and are four
days or more in length. We are the only student travel
company that is able to make this offer.
